O presente trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar o resultado de um levantamento herpetofaunístico realizado na floresta do baixo rio Moa, em Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre. O estudo foi realizado entre fevereiro de 2008 e setembro de 2009, sendo as espécies registradas através de armadilhas de interceptação e queda (AIQ), procura limita por tempo (PLT), busca ativa (BA), amostragem em sítios reprodutivos (ASR) e encontros ocasionais (EO). Este trabalho teve como objetivo o estudo da diversidade da herpetofauna do Parque Estadual da Ilha Anchieta, município de Ubatuba, localizada no litoral norte do estado de São Paulo, enfocando os seguintes aspectos: diversidade, distribuição e padrões de atividade sazonal. A riqueza e a diversidade de anfíbios anuros de serapilheira em áreas de floresta e de pastagem foram estudadas em Rondônia. A eficiência da utilização de armadilhas de interceptação e queda foi analisada. Objectives of this study were to investigate the influence of low environmental temperature on the experimentally induced inflammatory response in post-metamorphic Rana catesbeiana (bullfrogs). To accomplish these goals, 120 specimens of Rana catesbeiana were kept at 6ºC and 24ºC, and treated by transfixion of thigh muscular tissue with a 5-0 suture or IM carrageenan injection. Results obtained through qualitative and quantitative evaluations showed that the lower environmental temperature significantly modulates the inflammatory process development. We provide a partial revision of the microhylid frogs of the genus Anodonthyla, endemic to Madagascar, based on comprehensive molecular, bioacoustic and morphological data sets that include newly collected specimens from multiple localities. Morphological variation in two genetically distinct groups of the golden-striped salamander, Chioglossa lusitanica (Amphibia: Urodela)

Morphometric and colour pattern variation in the endemic Iberian salamander Chioglossa lusitanica is concordant with the genetic differentiation of two groups of populations separated by the Mondego river in Portugal. Aspects of reproductive behaviour, calls, clutch sizes, and larval morphology are described for Agalychnis craspedopus (Funkhouser, 1957). New distributional records extend the range of this species to southern Amazonian Peru. In most respects reproductive behaviour of A. craspedopus is similar to that of other phyllomedusine frogs. In southern Peru clutches were suspended above water-filled hollow cavities in logs, but in Ecuador tadpoles were found in a pool on the ground with no directlyoverhanging vegetation. This species is known only from a small population found at the type locality. A série-tipo de Holoaden bradei B. Lutz, 1958 depositada no Museu Nacional, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, é examinada. Apesar da referência a "Tipo, 2 Cotipos, 84 Parátipos" (somando 87 exemplares) e a "90 espécimes medidos" na descrição original, apenas 74 exemplares foram encontrados. Desde que nenhum exemplar foi originalmente numerado, o holótipo (ou "tipo") e os parátipos da espécie e sua localidade-tipo são atualizadas. A prévia designação do lectótipo de Holoaden luederwaldti Miranda-Ribeiro, 1920, é reafirmada.

Anfíbios anuros são predados por todos os grupos de vertebrados e muitos invertebrados. Todavia os estudos sobre predação em anfíbios anuros ainda são esparsos e anedóticos. Neste estudo são fornecidas informações sobre predação de anuros de uma assembléia no sudeste do Brasil. Invertebrados (aranhas e barata dagua), a rã Leptodactylus cf. ocellatus e cinco espécies serpentes (quatro Colubridae e um Viperidae) predaram espécies ou indivíduos de pequeno porte.

In the present paper Hyla ornatissima Noble is removed from the synonymy of Hyla granosa Boulenger, and resurrected as a separate species on the basis of morphological, ecological and acoustical differences. Another relative of this group occurring in Guiana is Hyla sibleszi Rivero. The reproductive pattern of Elachistocleis bicolor (Guérin Méneville, 1838) was studied at Serra da Bodoquena, from October 2000 to September 2001. Reproduction occurred in the wet season (October to April) and was correlated to high continuous pluviometric precipitation. We studied the leaf-litter frog community of Estação Ecológica Estadual Paraíso, in Guapimirim, Rio de Janeiro State, southeastern Brazil. Herein we combined three sampling methods (large plots, visual encounter surveys and pit-fall traps) to present data on species composition, richness, relative abundance and densities. The local assemblage of frogs associated to the leaf-litter was composed by 14 species, belonging to nine families. Registra-se o uso de bromélias de solo por três indivíduos de Elachistocleis ovalis em um remanescente de Mata Atlântica do Nordeste Brasileiro. Os animais ocuparam as axilas das folhas de base, os mesmos indivíduos foram encontrados nas mesmas axilas mais de uma vez, no período diurno e no noturno. A espécie Elachistocleis ovalis é típica de solo, e não há registro anterior de uso de bromélias por esta espécie. Aparentemente a axila da bromélia serve como abrigo não apenas durante o dia, mas também à noite, nos momentos em que a espécie não estiver em atividade.
